New Splash Park in Hemel Hempstead
It’s not my usual type of post, but anyone with children will share in my excitement for the new splash park that’s being built in Hemel Hempstead.
Before, when it was a hot day, you’d see everyone from Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Harpenden and Watford all hot foot it to St Albans to cool off in the splash park within Verulamium Park.
But with the new splash park in Watford’s Cassiobury park that arrived last year and now the new one that’s coming to Hemel Hempstead’s Gadebridge park. We’re going to be spoilt for choice.
I’ve been doing some digging and here are some key facts on the new splash park that’s coming to Hemel Hempstead…
- It’s going to be completely free to use.
- They’re also building a new playground right next to the splash park.
- The new playground is all wooden so will look beautiful.
- The splash park will be made up from water jets set under the ground. So children can run through them as the periodically splash up into the air – it’ll be so much fun.
- In the colder months the splash park area can be used to skate, scoot and ride on.
- No one seems to be committing to a finish date, but work started in September 2017 so the likelihood is that it will be ready for Spring/Summer 2019.
- The playground however is already looking good and I’m hoping that will be ready for Summer 2018.
