I’m lucky that I get to speak to so many amazing photographers & these are the top 5 questions that I get asked.
- What is your flooring?
My floor in the studio is a white vinyl floor that’s laid as a permanent floor (as opposed to a piece of it).
I also recently brought a rug from Maison Du Monde & I’m finding that works really well, so if you wanted a temporary white flooring solution it’s worth having a look at this.
- What’s your favourite lens?
I shoot with a Nikon D850 which I love, it handles low light really well.
I find though with Nikon lenses I don’t tend to like the colours or contrast straight out of camera. But Sigma Art lenses are fabulous, but you do need to make sure you have your camera calibrated professionally at least once a year as these lenses are known for missing focus if not properly maintained.
- How are your images so sharp?
I don’t do anything jazzy in my edits, or in how I save, or upload my images.
I truly believe that the sharpness comes from my equipment & the fact that it is calibrated at least once a year.
I send my camera body along with my main lenses to CFSS & they’re always so amazingly sharp when they come back.
- How are your whites so consistent?
This comes from the angles I shoot from & in my edits I always desaturate all colours from the background (apart from Orange & Red).
I go through this in detail in my training calls, hence why I’m not able to reveal too much in this blog (wouldn’t be fair on those that have trained with me).
But at least it gives an insight into the key elements that go into my work.
- Where are the nappies, nappy covers & toys from?
The nappies are by Kit & Kin, the nappy covers are by Petit Bateau, the toys are from lots of places but my favourite retailers are Sarah & Bendrix, This Paper Book, Happy Little Folks, Oli & Carol, West Stanton.
