Baby photoshoots, they’re a funny thing really aren’t they.
When I used to think of photoshoots I always imagined big flashing lights, lots of outfit changes and more props than I’ve ever seen before.
And all of that doesn’t really work with a baby.
The big flashing lights are frankly scary and no baby likes getting changed.
Yet this seems to still be the fashion for baby photoshoots.
Odd huh.
But when I started out I knew I wanted to do things differently.
I wanted my baby photoshoots to be stripped back and the focus put back onto the baby.
Because lets be frank, the whole point of a baby photoshoot is to capture images and memories of your baby.
So I kicked out all the big flashing lights and decided instead to keep things simple.
A beautiful white room filled with natural light.
And I ditched all the jazzy props in favour of some simple organic wooden toys from Sarah & Bendrix.
I decided that my baby photos wouldn’t be about what baby was wearing and that keeping clothing natural, neutral and simple would mean that not only would the images be classic and timeless, but that we wouldn’t be annoying your baby with a million fiddly wardrobe changes.
My baby photoshoots focus on your baby and I capture images of your baby just as they are.
Every detail from their little dimpled hands, to the adorable ways they sit, roll, play or crawl.
