Cake Smash Hemel is an odd title for a blog when you first think about it.
But I’m not bonkers I promise.
I’m simply a Hemel Hempstead based photographer who specialises in 1st birthday cake smashes, so the title just seemed to fit.
I adore how well received my style of cake smash is, not just with those in Hemel Hempstead (although I’m just around the corner for you guys), but by everyone across the country.
I do things a bit differently and although that was a risk, going against the norm always is, I’m so incredibly happy that there are so many other people who like this style too.
You see cake smashes are normally themed, or very bright and colourful.
Which is beautiful, but it just didn’t work for me.
I wanted the baby to be the focus and all of the other excitement I found distracted me.
So in my cake smash photos we keep things super simple.
Every session is held at my home photography studio in Hemel Hempstead, which is a lovely natural light filled room and perfect for little ones.
I keep everything very neutral and timeless.
From the room which is all white, to the clothing which I source from all around the world, the cake which is a mini tiered white naked cake, right through to the toys which are all natural wood and look beautiful in images.
We let your little one have the best time, playing with whatever toys they like, then we bring in the cake and finish it all with a little splash in the mini bath tub.
I also don’t pose, I’d rather capture your baby as they are, how they move, everything about them.
The result is photos of your little one with genuine smiles and true laughs.
Photos that capture every detail of them and a memory of the fun way you celebrated their 1st birthday.
