Ok so this all started with me experimenting to see what tips would help people take professional looking photos of their babies on their phones. I had a wonderful friend round a while back with her adorable little baby & used all the tricks & tips that I do in sessions, taking the shot with...

5 reasons being a do-it-all could destroy your business

I totally understand the thought process behind it… You want to attract more clients/customers, so you start offering every style of photography to appeal to as many people as possible. But, as controversial as it may be, I genuinely believe this is at the heart of why many small businesses fail. & the reasons I...

    5 reasons I’m fully booked

A few years ago, when I started getting fully booked 3 months out I thought it was a blip. It obviously wouldn’t last.  But fast forward 3 years & not only did it continue, but demand rose & rose. So despite doubling the number of sessions I offer to 6 – 8 sessions a week,...

It’s a question I get asked daily & so thought I’d pull together a little blog post to give you a little behind the scenes on my favourite presets to use. HeliaLoves Presets; helialoves / bw04 This is my absolute favourite B&W preset & my go to for every B&W edit I do. I struggled...

Thanks for this. I’m using Mastin Fuji 400h at the moment. Once you tweak the reds it’s a really nice clean edit with whites. I love SMAL skin tones but find them unrealistic on babies, despite loving them! Helia looks lovely but out of budget at the moment! I’m glad you flit about a bit with presets. As I’m finding each have benefits depending on client and it’s ok to flit! Great blog x ReplyCancel

Thank you so much for sharing. I know this post was done quite a while ago but the Helia Love Presets website link doesn’t seem to be working. Any idea where I can find them?ReplyCancel

5 tips to perfect your whites

It’s a question I’m asked almost daily, ‘how do you get your whites so white?’ which sounds like an advert for washing powder, but is actually the bain of many photographers lives. Whites are tricky, no actually that’s me being polite, shooting against white is a fu*king pain in the bum. Honestly of all the...
